a couple of individuals • faithfully humanistic • lovingly argumentative • resilient AF
meet Leah and Zach.
Polk Counseling Services, LLC was founded in 2018 with a mission to elevate the quality of psychotherapy services in their local community. The Polks commitment to lifelong learning, experiential therapy, and supporting fellow clinicians is unmatched. Both clinicians have backgrounds in a variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, extensive international psychotherapy training, organizational leadership, and prefer nontraditional approaches to solving common dilemmas. Embedded in their framework are the following values:
Clients are the experts of their experience, feelings, and needs, and deserve respect. We reject fusion models of relating in which one must lose themselves to another person, process, or perspective.
Truly holistic therapy necessitates deconstructing internal, relational, and societal structures that cause human suffering.
We are responsible for the future we want to see. This means supporting frameworks, practices and communities that are aligned with our profession’s code of ethics.
Leah is fully licensed in Missouri, and specialized in Sexual Health and Education at Washington University in St. Louis. She commonly treats clients with existential anxiety, concerns with identity and sexuality, relationship dilemmas, and past traumas and early attachment issues.
